Privacy Policy

ChapelCart is operated by ChapelCart LLC (“ChapelCart”, “we”, “us”). ChapelCart is an ordering platform that funeral homes use to offer memorial products, such as urns and keepsakes, to the families they serve, and that suppliers and engravers use to fill those orders. This policy explains what information we handle and why.
Who this policy covers
- Business users: funeral homes and their staff, suppliers, engravers and other partners with a ChapelCart account.
- Visitors to chapelcart.com.
- Families who order through a funeral home’s store. The funeral home is the seller and decides how it uses your information; its own privacy policy, shown in its store, applies. We handle that information on the funeral home’s behalf, only to run the store and fill the order.
Information we collect
- Account details: name, email address, phone number, business name and address, and sign-in details (passwords are stored only in hashed form).
- Order details: the products ordered; the name, address, email and phone number of the person ordering or receiving the order; the name of the person being memorialized; service dates and case numbers the funeral home enters; engraving text, fonts and photos added for personalization; shipping and tracking details.
- Business records: prices, bills, statements and payment status between funeral homes, suppliers and engravers. ChapelCart does not process card payments.
- Connected accounts: if a supplier connects QuickBooks Online, the details described in “QuickBooks Online” below.
- Technical details: IP address, browser type and the pages requested, kept in server logs for security and troubleshooting. We use one cookie to keep you signed in. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use information
- To run the platform: show stores and products, take and route orders, prepare engraving proofs, and create shipping details and bills.
- To send service emails, such as order confirmations, proofs, shipping notices and account messages.
- To provide support, keep the service secure, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations.
We don’t sell personal information, share it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
Who we share it with
- The parties to an order, each only what it needs: the funeral home that owns the store, the supplier that ships the product, and the engraver that personalizes it.
- Service providers that run parts of the service for us under contract: hosting and email delivery (Amazon Web Services, United States), shipping-label software used by suppliers (ShipStation), and accounting software a supplier chooses to connect (Intuit QuickBooks Online).
- When required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or sale, under this policy’s protections.
QuickBooks Online
A supplier can connect its own QuickBooks Online company so ChapelCart creates its invoices there when it ships an order.
- What we access: the supplier’s customer and product lists (to match funeral homes and products) and the invoices ChapelCart creates.
- What we store: the matching choices; the invoice number, total and a PDF copy (shown to the supplier and the funeral home that owes it); and the connection’s access keys, encrypted.
- What we don’t do: read other accounting data, change or delete existing records, share QuickBooks data with anyone else, or use it for anything other than these invoices.
- Disconnecting: the supplier can disconnect at any time, in ChapelCart or in QuickBooks. The access keys are then deleted.
How long we keep it
- Account and business records: kept while the account is active and as long as needed for bills, taxes and legal obligations.
- Order details: kept for the funeral home’s records.
- Family contact details: can be removed by the funeral home on request.
- Server logs: kept for a limited time.
Security
- Information travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
- Passwords are hashed, and connection keys to other services are encrypted.
- Access to systems is limited to people who need it.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
- Access, correction or deletion: you can ask us to see, correct or delete your information.
- Families: please contact your funeral home first, since it controls its store’s information. We will help it respond.
- California residents: you have the right to know, delete, and correct, and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We don’t sell or share personal information as California law defines those terms.
Children
ChapelCart is not meant for children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We will post any change here with a new date. For important changes we will tell business users by email.
